****** REGISTRATION WEATHER NOTICE ******

We have been monitoring the weather reports and made the decision to push registration back to 11:30am. Depending on weather conditions tomorrow morning, we may postpone registration to later in the day or another date. We will send another weather update, if needed, tomorrow morning at 10:00am. You may also call the school at (703) 519-3737 for updates via voicemail.

As mentioned in our last email, we do not recommend spending hours in the Commonwealth Baptist Church parking lot overnight. It’s going to be a cold and icy night. The parking lot and sidewalks will not be salted or cleared prior to one hour before registration. Please be safe!

Valley Drive | A child-centered, play-based co-op preschoolValley Drive Cooperative Preschool is a community of families who take an active role in their children's preschool experience.

Founded in 1958, Valley Drive is a parent-run, non-sectarian, cooperative preschool. Our purpose is to furnish the best possible educational opportunities at the most reasonable cost. Members are accepted regardless of race, sex, national origin, or religion.

As a cooperative school, Valley Drive parents work together and with school staff to give our children a great preschool experience.

Valley Drive is licensed by the State of Virginia and is a member of the Virginia Cooperative Preschool Council (VCPC).

Valley Drive | A community of familiesValley Drive Philosophy

Valley Drive's philosophy is child-centered and play- based. The teachers create an environment where children learn through active exploration and interaction with adults, other children, and an array of materials.

While we recognize the crucial importance of skills such as reading and math as the children approach elementary school, play is the primary vehicle for preschool growth. It is our conviction that our students are nurtured best through a healthy emotional orientation toward school. We provide constructive play opportunities for students to develop skills that will aid their success in elementary school.

In addition, Valley Drive values exploration in music and the natural world, so every class devotes a portion of their week to music and science.

Class Programs

Valley Drive offers programs for 2, 3, and 4/5 year olds. Children attend two to five days per week, depending on the child's age. School begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 12:00 noon.
